Three Atlas Copco brands merge into one biogas portfolio ahead of World Biogas Expo 2026 in Birmingham
27 May 2026

Scaling biogas infrastructure has always produced the same bottleneck. Stitching together equipment from competing vendors introduces compatibility risk, uneven plant performance, and maintenance costs that compound fast.
Atlas Copco is now targeting that problem directly. Three of its brands, CRI-MAN, LEWA, and Wangen Pumps, will present a consolidated offering at World Biogas Expo 2026 in Birmingham on 8 and 9 July. The combined range spans substrate preparation, digestion management, digestate separation, and biomethane odorisation, covering every critical stage of a modern biogas plant under one supplier.
For operators, the practical upside is real. A unified support network from design through commissioning removes the integration friction that routinely inflates costs on multi-vendor sites. Each stage has one accountable partner, not three separate service contracts.
Europe's biomethane target of 35 billion cubic metres annually by 2030 puts serious pressure on deployment timelines. CRI-MAN's digestate mixers prevent crust formation and stagnant zones to sustain gas yield. Wangen Pumps' BIO-MIX 200 handles high-capacity input of crop silage, poultry manure, and co-ferments, while its BIO-ROXX module strips contaminants before they reach downstream components. LEWA's precision micro metering pumps dose odorant into biomethane at exact, repeatable levels to meet grid injection safety requirements.
Beyond the product range, what this signals matters. Early biogas growth ran on policy incentives and feedstock access. Approaching 2030, engineering reliability and supply chain integration are fast becoming the variables that determine how quickly Europe closes the gap between current biomethane output and its clean energy target.
